Aquarium in Salt Lake

We had a really hard week at the end of May. Cody left to China for a little over a week and the first day he was gone Bridget got the stomach flu, followed by me, for 5 days we battled it (Clara made it through healthy). On top of the stomach flu and missing Cody, it rained the entire time he was gone and hailed. Not having many friends yet and needing to get the girls out of our sick house we decided to head to the Aqarium. I know, very weird an aquarium in a land locked state, but it was really fun. All indoors for obvious reasons, but the girls had a blast and loved the pengiuns most.

First Warm Weekend in Park City

We had one day of 70 degree weather in Park City the weekend after we came back from Hawaii. It was a trick, because we didn't experience warmth again for a few weeks. It even snowed all of Memorial Weekend. ( I can't complain now, cause its been 80 and blue skies for over week now). We took our first trail walk on the Farm trail. Its a really cool historic farm and then we ended at one of our favorite new parks, Willow Creek.

First visit back Home

We made our way back to California the week before our Maui trip. We had Dr Appts, I had a work meeting and Grammy came to Park City the week before so she could drive back with us. It was a long day of driving, but worth it to come to Newport and enjoy the warm weather. The first day we took a long walk to the Ferry and met Auntie April for coffee on Balboa Island. I think I walked 4 hours that morning, pushing Clara and holding Bridget. We left the double stroller in Park City, boy was I missing it.

We had a fun day at Irvine Spectrum with Michelle and Macey. The carousel broke, so off to the train we went.

Sweet Clara

Sweet Clara at her cardiologist appt on our trip back to California at the end of April.

It was heartbreaking the day I took Clara in for a reflux check and the Dr. looked at me and said Clara has a heart murmur, please make an appt with the cardiologist this week. I wanted to say no, I came in for you to check her reflux, not to find this!!! But God has a plan and it was meant for us to find out that day about Clara's sweet little heart. Since then we have seen the cardiologist twice and feel very blessed to have had amazing doctors. Clara has pulmonary stenosis and also has a small hole in between the two chambers of her heart. Both have not progressed any worse, but also haven't corrrected themselves, so by this age she will most likely live with her heart defects for the rest of her life.

Clara is amazing! You would never think this sweet and oh so strong baby had any heart defects at all. She has the sweetest smile, the cutest laugh, the strongest grip, she can sit by herself, push her legs to a standing position and just started to crawl. She likes to hang upside down, play with Bridget and she doesn't miss a thing! We love you Clara-belle! xoxo
