First visit back Home

We made our way back to California the week before our Maui trip. We had Dr Appts, I had a work meeting and Grammy came to Park City the week before so she could drive back with us. It was a long day of driving, but worth it to come to Newport and enjoy the warm weather. The first day we took a long walk to the Ferry and met Auntie April for coffee on Balboa Island. I think I walked 4 hours that morning, pushing Clara and holding Bridget. We left the double stroller in Park City, boy was I missing it.

We had a fun day at Irvine Spectrum with Michelle and Macey. The carousel broke, so off to the train we went.

Sweet Clara

Sweet Clara at her cardiologist appt on our trip back to California at the end of April.

It was heartbreaking the day I took Clara in for a reflux check and the Dr. looked at me and said Clara has a heart murmur, please make an appt with the cardiologist this week. I wanted to say no, I came in for you to check her reflux, not to find this!!! But God has a plan and it was meant for us to find out that day about Clara's sweet little heart. Since then we have seen the cardiologist twice and feel very blessed to have had amazing doctors. Clara has pulmonary stenosis and also has a small hole in between the two chambers of her heart. Both have not progressed any worse, but also haven't corrrected themselves, so by this age she will most likely live with her heart defects for the rest of her life.

Clara is amazing! You would never think this sweet and oh so strong baby had any heart defects at all. She has the sweetest smile, the cutest laugh, the strongest grip, she can sit by herself, push her legs to a standing position and just started to crawl. She likes to hang upside down, play with Bridget and she doesn't miss a thing! We love you Clara-belle! xoxo

Snow Day at Deer Valley

We had our first real snow day when Grampy and Grammy came to visit for Easter weekend. We spent the afternoon sledding at Deer Valley (ski areas already closed for season) and sipping hot chocolate on the patio of the new Montage Resort. By far one of my favorite days in Park City so far.

Clara started solids

Clara started solids! I was hesitant to start too early with the second baby, but after all her plate grabbing and stare downs at every meal, she won! She is a great eater, had no trouble knowing what to do, I guess she had been watching us longer than I thought. She likes oatmeal, bananas, pears, sweet potatoes and carrots.

One last meal in the backyard of our house in Mission Viejo.

She dropped the spoon and it covered her face and mine.

Happy to be in the highchair.

Easter in Park City

Easter in Park City was cold and snowy, but we still made it to church and the girls wore their Easter dresses with lots of layers. Grampy and Grammy came to visit, so we had a fun family time and a yummy brunch downtown. This was also the first year we dyed Easter eggs! Bridget had so much fun finding the eggs, she had Cody and Grampy hide them over and over. She loved eating them as well! Happy First Easter Clara! xo

Downtown

One of the coolest things about living in Park City is the downtown. Park City is a silver mining town from the 1860's so the downtown is totally historic, restored buildings and full of lots of charm, not to mention good restaurants and shops! Here are some pictures from our first family trip downtown when we moved here.

You can ski into downtown, pretty cool!

Cute pic of the girls, Clara was bundled in her stroller when we took the downtown ones, so I had to add one of her to the post!

Roadtrip to our new home...

The move to UT was going to take a few days, so we decided to stop in Zion for a couple nights and enjoy one of the many National Parks in our new home state! We knew it might be cool, but didn't expect SNOW! They said is never snows in Zion in April, well we experienced a first. But it was absolutely beautiful and much better than rain. We stayed at a great hotel called the Cable Moutain Lodge right at the Park entrance and walked in for the day. Zion is an amazing place, so much to see and the little town of Springdale at the west entrance is so fun to check out, shops, great restaurants and hotels.
