B's New Bed

Bridget finally had the chance to sleep in her "New Bed" (as she calls it) this week....and she LOVES it! She was a big sleepy head the first couple of days, but the past two mornings she has discovered she can get out of bed on her own and proudly walks into our room in the morning and says " Hi Daddy" and "Hi Mommy"! She loves to sit in her new bed and read books and now that she has a new bookshelf with tons of new books (they had been stored) she can't stop pulling them down to read. She has made a great transition into her new room.

Beating the Summer Heat

The Summer heat is finally here and we have been spending our evenings after dinner outside. From walks in the neighborhood, to picking veggies in our garden, playing on our new patio or enjoying the late evening sun in our front yard. Bridget loves watering anything and everything, so we filled up her pool and let her splash around, she ended draining the pool into her watering can and watering the yard instead.

Last week our neighbor was out of town, so we walked his dog every night. Its all Bridget could talk about the second we finished dinner. I am sad I didn't get a photo of it, but definitely the highlight of her night. We also survived a long power outage, that kept us walking through the neighborhood and visiting neighbors and until almost 9pm. With no AC and lights we couldn't have sat inside that night.

Last Sunday we joined my Big Bro and his fam for some Lagoon time at their house. We spent the late afternoon swimming, playing in the sand and water sliding. Then had pizza and ended the night with s'mores and a campfire. Bridget tried s'mores for the first time and loved the toasted marshmallows (no surprise). Thanks for a great Sunday evening Anderson Family.

Friday at Irvine Park

We had a fun Friday at Irvine Park. Train ride, zoo visit and then finished with a pony ride and lunch. Jen and her boys Trent and Drew joined us too. It was a quiet day at the park and we had so much fun.

OC Fair

We took Bridget to the OC Fair on Sunday late afternoon and evening! Something we look forward to every year. The weather was perfect, not too hot and there was so much new stuff this year. We started through the gate eating...Cody got a giant Turkey Leg and headed to see Centennial Farm...all the animals Bridget loves! The next stop was beer for Grampy and Cody and then to the kid rides for Bridget. She loves trains, so we rode this 3x that evening and she went down the slide with Daddy (so fast). Bridget and I shared a hot dog and cheese from Hot Dog on a Stick and later some ice cream. It was a fun time with Grammy and Grampy!

Lake Nacimiento

We headed North a couple weekends ago for a wedding in Northern California. Cody and I dropped Bridget at his parents house for two nights (the first two night stay away from Bridget) and headed to the wedding. At the end of the weekend we met Mimi and Papa at Lake Nacimiento for a couple nights and some fun days on the Lake. Bridget loved it of course, anything involving water. She jumped off the dock over and over, swam a ton with the life vest which she surprisingly didn't mind, played with Sadie and enjoyed boat rides watching Daddy and Papa wakeboard and cruises on Grandpa's Pontoon boat. Thanks Mimi and Papa for a great time and for watching Bridget so we could have some nice alone time before #2 arrives!
